Boyer’s hard work pays off with scholarship

Archbishop Hannan student Mikayla Boyer has earned a scholarship to play both indoor and beach volleyball at Spring Hill.
Coach Rebekka Bonnaffee said, “We can always improve, but Mikayla has always been an amazingly hard worker with lots of dedication and heart. She wants to be the best she can possibly be. If there’s a way to get better, she’ll do it.”
Despite her hard work and dedication to the game of volleyball, Boyer suffered from an ACL injury.
“I don’t think my injury will cause me too much trouble at the next level. I already started playing again and my goal is to come back even stronger than before.” Boyer said.
After her injury, she said that all she needs to do is to just get back into the swing of things and to keep playing a lot to get back and better than where she was before.
Bonnaffee said, “She She’s already back on the court slamming balls down at her opponents. We are all excited beyond words that we will have her back this season”
Boyer plays club for Ignite in Baton Rouge. She said she loves club so much because you get to travel a lot and play good teams from out of state that really helped her grow as a player.
Boyer said, “Over the years, club has definitely helped me develop my skills and keep them up year round.”
Boyer is the type of person that will get knocked down and come back even stronger. Even her coach stated that she is an incredibly hard worker with lots of dedication and heart. She wants to be the best she could possibly be. And if there is a way to get better, she will do it.
