On Wednesday, February 22nd, the Hannan students roamed the hallways in their spirit shirts in anticipation for their big Olympic night. Students were given shirts, each color representing their grade, that they would use to spread spirit at the pep rally. After thorough planning and hard work, Olympic Night was able to take place in the gym after school.

“Preparation and decorations can be really hard and time consuming” said Adeline Fogle, a sophomore student council member, “but once it finally happens it pays off.”

The games were tough and the competition was high, but every class was up for the challenge. Certain games such as human pyramid and human chair took place and kept classmates on the edge of their seats. With hopeful faces and big smiles, each grade remained silent as the winners were going to be announced. In the end, after a long fight for first, the sophomores reigned victorious and took home the spirit stick.

“I’m happy I went, it was so much fun” said Miya Durey, a sophomore and pep rally game participant, “I’m really proud of how my grade did. We worked so hard.”

Once the memorable night was done, students went home excitedly to prepare for the next dress down day of spirit week.
